Duolimbo: Çağrı Sertel, Mehmet İkiz | Concert

Istanbul-based pianist, composer, keyboardist and producer Çağrı Sertel and Stockholm-based drummer and producer Mehmet İkiz come together as Duolimbo, performing at Komünite on December 10 at 9:30 PM.

Built around drums and synthesizers, the duo’s sound takes shape in the moment, guided by their shared intuition and the directions the music takes as they play. Drawing from the jazz tradition without being tied to a particular repertoire or genre, they discover the form and direction of each performance together.

At the heart of Duolimbo is a practice of listening and responding in real time. Each performance opens up a new space between the two musicians, shaped by what they hear, where they take the music, and how they respond to one another. As a result, every concert becomes a singular experience—specific to that moment and impossible to reproduce in quite the same way.
