Barış Akpolat | DJ Set

Music writer, radio host and DJ Barış Akpolat has been immersed in music for years. Since 2005, he has been writing about music for Hürriyet, interviewing some of the world’s most influential artists, including Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Erykah Badu, Neil Young, Ozzy Osbourne, Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke.

His musical journey began with metal in his childhood and gradually expanded to encompass soul, funk, hip-hop, pop, disco, jazz and Delta blues. Alongside his weekly radio show on Radyo Eksen, Akpolat has been DJing for 15 years, continuing to build his personal music archive with records and cassettes. His selections move freely across genres and eras, with a particular love for disco.

On 23 October at 9:30 PM, Barış Akpolat takes over the decks at Komünite with a selection drawn from his extensive music archive, taking listeners on a journey across different eras and genres.

The event is free of charge and capacity is limited. Come early.
